Friends of St Mary’s (FoSTMH) is our vibrant parent association, and we encourage all parents to be as actively involved as they can be.
A school is so much more than just the classroom or the sports field. This is where our girls learn about empathy, love, friendship and life beyond ourselves. More often than not parents learn anew with their children. School is the foundation of a community that will likely stay with us forever. The FoSTMH value this sense of community above all, and a lot of their work is directed toward strengthening its foundations.
Charity, diversity and inclusiveness is at the heart of St Mary’s, and the FoSTMH align their charitable work and fundraising to this ethos. They work alongside the school to support charities like AGE UK Camden and St John & Elizabeth Hospice. Their fundraising is not limited locally, extending beyond borders to international organisations that may benefit from additional funding and awareness.
In addition to charitable organizations, FoSTMH raises funds for the School. We are proud to say that over the last few years we have contributed significantly to bursaries and will continue to do so going forward. Their efforts are currently directed toward raising money for a new sound system for the Chapel, and solar panels for the roof.
There are many ways for parents to get involved in the school community, from volunteering at our Christmas Fair, joining an event sub-committee, participating in fundraising, contributing to the FoSTMH newsletter, or simply attending one of our many parent events throughout the year (Christmas drinks, the annual school quiz, movie nights).
